| Dublin Duo is an Irish father and daughter duet singing a unique blend of Irish ballads and folk music in traditional and contemporary style. They also mix in some English and American folk, soft rock and folk rock tunes. Richard and Karen use their strong vocal abilities and tight harmonies to present a wide range of song types; from the sad, mournful traditional Irish ballad to the foot tapping, hand clapping, sing-a-longs and a fine measure of comical songs! Before coming to the States, Richard sang lead & backup vocals & played guitar, banjo & mandolin with various well known Irish ballad groups, most notably, “Vintage” the resident band at the famous “Johnny Fox’s” (the highest pub in Ireland), Dublin. Karen is a classically trained vocalist who, after completing her training at the Hartt School of Music, pursued her love of Country & Irish music in Nashville, TN. Karen performed regularly with well known singer/songwriter, Rocky Dimmick, at “Seanachie’s” & “Mulligan’s” in Nashville. Now, Richard & Karen have come together to present a dynamic combination that has proved hugely popular to a diverse audience. They perform regularly at Frankie’s Restaurant, Westbrook to a growing number of patrons. They have also performed at Ceili’s Irish Pub, Guilford; Vaughn’s Public House, Hartford; The Elks Club, Westbrook; Anna Liffey’s, New Haven; as well as a number of charity events and private parties throughout the year. Richard & Karen are based in Clinton, CT and are available for performances throughout the state. ** 2012 Update: Currently Richard is performing alone as Dublin One while Karen has relocated to Florida.
